The Blues sit on top of National League Three and are putting their great start down to a tough pre-season fitness regime.
Conditioning expert Gary Mason teamed up with new assistant coach Andy Northey, who brought his expertise from the world of rugby league with St Helens, to make them one of the fittest sides in the division.
And it gave them an edge when they ran away with the second half against Preston Grasshoppers at the weekend to win their third game on the run.
"Saturday was extremely hot day to play rugby but it was clear that our boy s were stronger," said club spokesman Geoff Allen. "Hoppers were gasping at half-time while we were clearly ready for more and we ran away with it."
The win put them clear at the head of the league and completes a fine turnaround after Macc lost their first eight games of last season.
"We not getting carried away and thinking of anything silly like promotion. There's a long, long way to go," insisted Allen.
"It will be interesting to see what happens when other teams catch up to us fitness-wise and when the rain starts falling and the pitches aren't as good.
"But this start has set us up nicely for the season."
