RORY Lamont made his long-awaited comeback and for Sale Sharks as they drew 24-24 all with Perpignan.

Lamont scored two second half tries as they drew with the Challenge Vaquerin tournament favourites.

Sale looked like set for a victory until they were dealt a double blow when replacement scrum half Chris Leck was yellow carded and Lamont injured his shoulder.

Eifion Roberts also scored is first ever try for the club.

Director of Rugby Philippe Saint Andre was pleased with the result.

“It took us some time to get into the game but we had a lot of youngsters out on the field and they did really well,” he said.

"I was particularly pleased with Luke McAlister and Rory Lamont who were both outstanding for us."
