SALE duo Charlie Hodgson and Richard Wigglesworth have paid the price for lackustre performances against New Zealand after Martin Johnson dropped them out of the England squad.

Andrew Sheridan and Matthew Tait are the Sharks representatives in the side named by former skipper Johnson on his first day in charge as England's new team manager.

Wigglesworth has been dropped down the Saxons squad alongside Mike Tindall, Ben kay, Joe Worsley, Michael Lipman, Topsy Ojo, David Strettle and Mike Brown. Sale lock Chris Jones has made the Saxons squad

Johnson has included Wasps' New Zealand Maori international Riki Flutey, who qualifies for England on residency grounds in September, Northampton hooker Dylan Hartley, London Irish lock Nick Kennedy and Leicester back-row forward Jordan Crane as the only four uncapped players in the squad.

Wasps full-back Josh Lewsey returns to the senior England fold for the first time since the World Cup while Leicester duo Harry Ellis and Lewis Moody return from long-term injuries.
