DWAYNE Peel will join Sale Sharks this summer after signing a three year deal.
The 26-year-old Wales international came through the ranks at Llanelli Scarlets and has gone on to become the most capped scrum half for the Principality with 64.
He has scored five tries in his time with Wales and also started all three tests while on tour with the British and Irish Lions in 2005.
Peel said: “This is a chance to play in a different environment, a chance for myself and my girlfriend Jess to sample a new experience and a chance for me to play in a different league against different players.
"I know some of the Sale Sharks players - Andrew Sheridan, Jason White, Charlie Hodgson and Mark Cueto from the Lions tour of 2005.
"Sharks have some great players and I am looking forward to playing with them.”
Sharks CEO James Jennings added: "I am delighted to announce that Dwayne Peel has committed his future to the club for the next three years.
"We continue to build a squad with genuine world class talent and we are very fortunate to have attracted another international scrum half to Sale Sharks.
"Our ambition to compete with the best clubs in Europe means we must attract and retain players with the ability and commitment to achieve playing success at the highest level – I am certain that Dwayne shares this ambition.”
Director of rugby Philippe Saint Andre said: “The news that Dwayne has agreed to join Sale Sharks is excellent news for the club and the supporters.
"Together with Richard Wigglesworth we will have two young, international players covering the number 9 position.”
