SALE Sharks wheel out the big guns at Edgeley Park tonight before losing some of them to Six Nations duty.

England's powerhouse prop Andrew Sheridan returns to the front row as Sharks bid to get their Guinness Premiership campaign back on track against Harlequins.

Mark Cueto starts at full-back with England team-mates Charlie Hodgson and Richard Wigglesworth teaming up at nine and 10, with Scotland flyer Rory Lamont on the wing.

Scotland skipper Jason White takes his place in the back row alongside Magnus Lund, who will be joining the England Saxons for training next week.

A disappointing performance against London Irish saw them fall behind in their bid to secure a top four finish, and they will be looking to turn things around tonight before the international season robs the club of several key players.

Head coach Kingsley Jones said: "It will be a very tough game. The conditions are bound to be very heavy after all the rain we have had.

"Quins will be desperate to get something out of the game. They have had a tough run recently and results have not been going their way.

Competition

"Selection has been difficult, but believe me competition is fierce and all the players need to be hungry when they pull on a Sharks jersey.

"We know we are going to lose a few players during the Six Nations but the next few weeks will shape our season and we want to be involved in a trophy hunt at the end of the season.

"We need to get back on track in the Premiership. We played poorly at London Irish and the players know it.

"Against Montpellier last week we threw away a chance to be top seeds by trying to play too much rugby. We know where we went wrong and need to learn from it."

Former Lymm winger Dave Strettle starts on the right wing for Harlequins before joining up with England.

He is one of five changes to the side which played Stade Francais last Sunday.

Four of those changes will take place in the forwards with director of rugby Dean Richards picking a front row of Ceri Jones, Gary Botha and Mike Ross while Will Skinner replaces flanker Paul Volley.

SALE: Cueto, Lamont, McAlister, Thomas, Ripol, Hodgson, Wigglesworth, Sheridan, Bruno, Turner, C Jones, Schofield, White, Lund, Chabal. Reps: Briggs, Roberts, Cox, Bonner Evans, Martens, Bell, Mayor.
