Concerns had been expressed about the possibility of early evening traffic congestion on the nearby motorway network, with a switch to Sunday afternoons mooted.
But Friday night football presents greater corporate and sponsorship opportunities and that is likely to sway Reds bosses to keep with their traditional slot, rather than playing on Sunday afternoons.
Reds’ administrative and community staff will transfer operations to the new stadium in December.
While naming rights for the ground are being sought, no date has been fixed for The Willows to be demolished to make way for new housing.
Meanwhile, former club captain Rob Parker, who joined Castleford on loan midway through the season, will not be returning to Salford.
Reds have decided against retaining him and football director Steve Simms will meet the club’s youth supremo Alan Hunte this week to discuss which players will step up from the junior ranks and join the first-team squad.
Simms has been highly impressed with the impact of French teenage star Theo Fages. He shone in the second half of last season after moving to the club on trial.
Simms added: “Theo turned 17 in August and he has done very well. Our under-18s finished very strongly, winning seven from eight I think. Theo did well and had a very big influence.
“We’ll consider a number of players.”
Reflecting on a season in which Salford finished 11th with 20 points from 27 games and well short of the play-off places, Simms said: “When you put all things into perspective and analyse what has gone on it’s not been too bad for us.
“With two or three more wins we could have been in the play-offs. We could have got more points, but we could certainly take positives from the season and build.
“Young winger Danny Williams came in towards the end of the season and really impressed. This proved to be a tremendous bit of business for us.
“In Danny and Jodie Broughton we will have two of the best wingers in the competition next year.
“They could go really well for us and Joel Moon will also be a very good signing for us.” Tweet

This seems a bit odd. An article about Salford with a picture of a Swinton player (Martin Ainscough). Any explanation? Perhaps some members of your staff don't know the difference.
Absolutely stupid descision this. So, once again the 'suits' come BEFORE the supporters! The corporate dollar always wins. A disgrace. Mr Tarry, call it a day please!
Two season tickets down next year. No chance of getting there on a Friday night
I thought it was part of the planning restictions that the games had to be played on a Sunday!!
Perhaps the club should compromise on home dates, having the early season matches scheduled for Sundays and the later onbes for Friday nights. In Feb and March ,it gets cold for the spectators and the sun would be a welcome sight on a cold Feb afternoon. And the comparative size of the crowds would be a good indication as to what should be decided for 2013. Torred
Friday night traffic will be an absolute nightmare on Barton bridge, why dont the club consult the fans? by taking this decision the club are waving goodbye to many fans.

WHAT !!!!!!!!!!!! Not been to bad for us - for who exactley, its not been to bad for you because you have kept your job again - it has been a shocking season when you for one harped on about the quality siginings and how they were going to do a job for us in this historic season of leaving the will willows and get us in to the play offs at a minimum, yea right - not to bad - it was a shocking season with too many inept performances, lack of passion from certain players, and players that quite frankly were not good enough. And as for the debate about what night will be best to play on, it doesnt matter because as i have said before the only thing that will get peoples backsides on seats is having something worthwhile to watch on the pitch, that is a simple fact, and as for corporate i thought that was to try and impress business people etc, Jeez you wont impress many people taking them to watch some of the garbage that we turned out last season !!!!!.
On the positive though ------- erm
Perhaps Mr Simms should become more accountable for our results he is the one constant in a succession of poor results over a long period of time.
