Oldham 18 Swinton 28

ANGRY Oldham coach Steve Deakin blasted his players after another humilating defeat - their 21st on the trot - and insisted: "I am getting fed up of defending people."

His side led 18-10 at the break but folded in the second half when Swinton, inspired by four-try centre Darren Woods, ran in a match-clinching 18 points in a 15-minute spell.

Last season's beaten Grand Finalists made it look simple but it was made all that easier by some dreadful defending.

Deakin added: "I am massively disappointed but must take some blame because I pick the team. We are too soft."

Oldham had French forward Said Tamghourt red-carded.

You have made a mistake in this report. Oldham did NOT lead 18-10 at the half time break as you state. The half time score was in fact 12-10 for Oldham. I went to this game and thought it was 12-10. So I checked and not surprisingly discovered it was just as I suspected, 12-10.
Thank you.
