Reds line up Korky bid

SALFORD City Reds are one of several Super League clubs linked with Wakefield's powerhouse Greek prop Michael Korkidas for next season.

Reds' football director Steve Simms has confirmed he is monitoring the situation with Korkidas and has been in contact with the player's Sydney-based agent Mark Rowan to check out his availability.

Challenge Cup finalists Huddersfield Giants were understood to have lined Korkidas up for next season but his future plans remain undecided.

A new one-year deal has been offered to winger Junior Langi. He is expected to stay but Stephen Myler could be - leaving for rugby union - along with Andrew Dunemann.

Reds could be at full strength except for Simon Finnegan for Friday's home game with Harlequins. Reds' coach Karl Harrison is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon but will be back in charge.

Contender

Reds' junior coach Alan Hunte is a contender for the vacant Doncaster job, so too, is ex-Reds skipper and GB star Bobbie Goulding.

Warrington are set to welcome Paul Rauhihi back from injury against Bradford.

Speculation is rife that Saints' coach Daniel Anderson is homesick and could return to Australia at the end of the year.

Jordan James has made his move from Wigan to Widnes a permanent one and Warriors' coach Brian Noble has confirmed he will have Danny Sculthorpe back at the JJB next season. Sculthorpe has been on loan at Castleford.

The public meeting called by Swinton chairman John Kidd for August 9 could outline plans for the Lions to play home games next season at the Willows.

The Lions meanwhile have signed Tama Wakelin and Chris Hough. They travel to Hunslet tomorrow - the game was scrapped last month when the home side failed to provide medical cover.
