SORRY you Pommies out there but I just don't rate Great Britain's chances in this season's Tri- Nations series.
For starters, I don't feel the Brits are good enough and they face a very tall order in what should be a tough competition.
Holders New Zealand definitely won't want to relinquish the title and you can count on the Aussies being set on revenge after losing last year's final.
I am, however, looking forward to seeing a Great Britain team take on a New Zealand side at Saints this summer ahead of the Tri-Nations although I think this one could also go the Kiwis' way.
My own Kiwi team selected from players within Super League would be a strong one.
I don't know what it is about the Kiwis but they have this ability to gel quickly and are incredibly passionate about representing their country.
Watch out for Paul Rauhihi. He's a very big player who causes wear and tear and for three successive seasons he was among the top off-loaders in the NRL.
He gives any attack some variety and will come into his own for Warrington as the grounds start to dry up. I've said all along he could have a very big impact on Super League.
I would play Wigan's David Vaeliki at full-back, he's played there before. Lesley Vainikolo and Francis Meli could go on the wings with Shontayne Hape and Willie Talau in the centres.
Impressive
I'd have Stacey Jones running the show at scrum-half with Thomas Leuluai as his half-back partner.
My front row would see Richard Swain at hooker with Jason Cayless and Feka Paleassina from Wigan alongside him.
And what about this for a back three - David Solomona, Ali La'Autiti and Willie Poaching.
The GB selection would be interesting but one man staking a strong claim for an international recall is Salford's David Hodgson.
He's really been impressing this season and was in the Great Britain set-up about three years ago.
I spoke with former coach David Waite and he told me that in the behind-the-scenes athletic testing, Hodgson was outstanding.
I looked at taking him to Saints when I was in charge, on the recommendation of David Waite. He is now showing promise and probably now feels he is one of the stars at Salford.
I was however not surprised to see Salford losing at Castleford last weekend. They Reds had just played Warrington, Leeds and St Helens and probably thought `we should beat Castleford,' therefore the intensity drops.
Salford are going through a bit of a blip right now, this happens to all the teams but they will come back, I am sure of this.
Do you agree? Have your say.
