Barton in some bother

I DON'T know the full ins and outs of what actually went on in a Thailand hotel bar with Manchester City's Joey Barton but he has to be sacked if the allegations of indiscipline are true, writes Wigan rugby league coach IAN MILLWARD.

City boss Stuart Pearce had no alternative than to tell him to pack his bags and go home.

Barton was in hot water at Christmas at the club's party and now this new situation blows up.

Believe me, there is nothing worse for a coach to know there is an underlying problem with a particular player and then see it surface.

It really does land you with a big problem.

Many soccer players irritate me. They are among the best paid athletes on the planet and yet at times they forget their responsibilities and let themselves and their club down badly.

Look out for my column next week when I'll talk about the `bad boys' I've come across and had to deal with in Rugby League.

Isn't this the same Millward that was sacked by St Helens for Gross misconduct?

People in glass houses springs to mind!!!

Stick to "egg chasing" before commenting on a proper sport!!!

What a clown!!!

Another day another M(U)EN story lacking in originality and ideas. I have congratulated MEN in the past when appropriate but please tell me why this story has been printed? A rugby coach with no interest in football who doesn't know the facts is throwing his comments into the fray. Come on M(U)En get back to the real stories. If you are bereft of ideas why not ask the fans for some ideas or ask us to write some for you? I'd willingly write a pro-MCFC story free of charge.

Garbage from a gent who needs to get both his own house and that of Wigan in order no wonder he was sacked

It's football, not 'soccer' Millward. Stick to egg-chasing, and don't bother commenting on what you don't know.

I'm with Ollie, I'll write a story for free. What the hell has anything at CITY got to do with a rugby league coach who was sacked recently? Sour grapes - if it happened to me it should happen to everyone else? Grow up and concentrate on your own house first. What a waste of ink!!!!

I liked Ian Millward when he was at St Helens, if it turns out he's sold himself to the other side I'll have to change my opinion of him.

I hear they are going to give the 'adelecent Barton' a final chance ? Players think they are bigger than their clubs,

There are clubs in Europe they teach there players what is discipline. When the kids are 12 years old they start to learn. A great player has also discipline.

An example is AJAX Amsterdam.

But well, I mean topclubs on a high level in Europe, not Man City!!

I really do find this article amusing. Concidering that Mildred was fired for misconduct himself who gave him the right to condemn any one elses actions
