SEAN GLEESON: The teenage star has talent and Millward is the man who can nurture it. He looks a star in the making.

BRIAN CARNEY: Time could soon be up for the Irishman. Australia beckons, and maybe it's best for both him and Wigan.

STEPHEN WILD: Local lad who never lets the side down, but perhaps he has seen too much active service at such a tender age

MARTIN ASPINWALL: Unable to recapture his fine form of last season, and is looking insecure and short of confidence.

BRETT DALLAS: Worthy of a place in any side. Still world-class, and he will stay around to lay foundations for future success

KEVIN BROWN: Highly rated but still tends to be thrown around like a rag doll. Has talent but is not in the the mould of a Gene Miles or a Brett Kenny.

DENNIS MORAN: Tidy half-back, but Wigan need a playmaker to shunt them across the park and organise

JERRY SEUSEU: A fine forward in his day, but very much in the autumn of his career and not one for the long-term

TERRY NEWTON: What Wigan would give for half-a-dozen more with his passion and desire for the game.

DANNY SCULTHORPE: Some neat touches but the jury is still out in a player who is always in the shadow of his star brother.

DAVID ALLEN: This lad will always make a fist of it, but needs experience around him in order to blossom.

DANNY TICKLE: Millward wanted him at Saints and he will shine in a quality team.

BOB BESWICK: Another lad not prepared to take a backward step but he, too, has been pitched in at the deep end.

JEROME GUISSET: One of the better buys but has never been in a settled position.

WAYNE GODWIN: Has had a fine season - watch him flourish under Millward.

HARRISON HANSEN: Salford should be trying to bring him back to The Willows.

BRYN HARGREAVES: Needs time to mature but has the basic ability.
