Millward waits to learn fate

SUSPENDED St Helens coach Ian Millward is expected to learn today if he is to be reinstated by the Knowsley Road Board.

This seems unlikely and Millward's highly successful five-year reign as head coach could be over following allegations of him breaking the club's code of conduct.

Millward's legal advisor Richard Cramer has said in a statement that his client's suspension has arisen from three separate incidents of alleged foul language.

Millward has vowed to clear his name and been at the centre of an internal hearing.

Fans continue to call for him to be put back in full control of team affairs.

Meanwhile, Australian World Cup-winning coach Chris Anderson and his Kiwi namesake Daniel Anderson have both confirmed they would be interested in the Saints job should Millward stand down.

Chris Anderson says: "I haven't had any contact from St Helens but if a position like this came up I would be interested in having a look."

Daniel Anderson, the former New Zealand Warriors coach says: - "I will just wait to see what happens."

This all seems a bit cloak and dagger to me! I'm a Rhino's fan through and through but I think Milward's a good coach. Make him give a public apology for whatever "the incident" may have been. Sacking him means that the the competition is thrown out of kilter - St's are the closest contenders to the Rhino's and I'm sure we wouldn't want to win because saints didn't perform due to office politics!
