Wayne English grabbed a hat-trick of tries as Swinton brushed aside Oldham's challenge after a shaky start.
Nick Johnson gave Oldham a third-minute lead, before Damian Munro chased a Simon Svabic kick to score in the corner, but both Roughyeds tries were unconverted.
And Swinton were in front by the 18th minute, as Lee Marsh - with a converted try - and Danny Heaton both went over.
Further tries from English and Ian Sinfield had Swinton in command, although Jonathan Wilson crossed the line for Oldham just before the break.
The Lions' fifth try came from Wes Rogers in the 57th minute, before Ian Watson set up English for his second eight minutes later.
Ben Cramont pounced on a wayward pass and fed Watson to score in the corner for the Lions, and English completed his hat-trick with five minutes left.

Salford may well have been in front by the 18th minute, but not against Oldham - they were comprehensively hammered by SWINTON.
When was the last time your paper got Manchester City mixed up with Manchester United???
Please sort it!

Please will you please note for future reference that the Swinton player's name is spelled as Cramant and not "Cramont" as mentioned in your Swinton v Oldham report. Ben is the son of former Lions' forward Terry Cramant. Thank you.
