It was a debacle... the Aussies literally hammered GB to leave our game shell-shocked.
The 44-4 scoreline in the final of the Tri-Nations tournament at Leeds on Saturday has again underlined the gulf in class. But Salford Reds' Australian football director Steve Simms was not surprised to see the Kangaroos powering to an emphatic victory.
He said: "The pace of the game is now incredible and any team - no matter how good they are - can be in big trouble without possession.
"This was the case for GB - we have started to see these big scores in both Super League and the NRL - it happens when teams are on a roll and the Aussies played a wonderful brand of attacking rugby. Everything they tried came off. Us Aussies came out on top in the mind games."

It was bad enough being at Elland Road on Saturday night.but after reading today that Paul Sculphorpe was not fit to play on Saturday against Australia is really rubbing salt into our wounds.
When you play the World Champions you need 17 fit men on the field.
I feel sorry for the likes of Mickey Higham who should have at least been on the bench in place of the injured Paul Sculphorpe.
They say lesson's will be learnt from this game at Elland Road last Saturday---Well let's hope so,but I have a feeling in the future Mr Noble will only be picking 17 fit players and not taking a chance on any body who is not up to the task.
A very dissapointed Great Britain fan Norma Rowley.
