By half-time though the lead was just two points with Brian Capewell grabbing a touchdown and landing three goals.
However, the impressive Wayne English and Chris Maye crossed for tries and Paul Ashton kicked three goals to make it 26-10.
And that cushion enabled Swinton to absorb the loss of Rob Whittaker to the sin bin as well as late tries from Ade Meade and Mick Redford.
