PAUL Cullen has been handed another three years to return Warrington Wolves to a rugby league superpower.
The 41-year-old former Whitehaven coach has agreed a new extension to his contract that will keep him at the Halliwell Jones Stadium until 2007.
Cullen, whose current deal was up at the end of the season, said: "I am honoured to have the opportunity to extend my work with this club going forward.
"This period enables us to target the next phase in our re-development.
"My initial goals which were survival in Super League, a position within the top six within Super League, and the recruitment of personnel to take us to the next level, have been achieved in a very short space of time.
"The challenge now is to enhance the work already done. My eyes are cast firmly on the future in conjunction with the further positive development of this club off the field.
Knives out
"We know where we want to go and we are determined to get there."
Warrington are currently eighth in the table and the knives were out for Cullen after last Sunday's 31-18 defeat at Widnes Vikings. But the Wolves are expected to return to winning ways on Saturday against London Broncos.
Wolves' chairman Lord Hoyle said: "It is excellent news Paul has decided to pledge his future to Warrington for a further three years.
"He will continue to strengthen the team with the aim of becoming one of the top sides in Super League."
