The Reds take on Wigan at the JJB Stadium on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
Salford lost to the Warriors 38-12 early in the season, but their league form has since shown an amazing upturn.
McRae will be looking to the in-form Richard Myler and Luke Adamson to again inspire his side as they did against Bradford on Friday.
McRae said: "Friday's win was down to really hard work again and I suppose the scoreline reflects the defensive effort put in by both teams.
"And going in 4-0 at half-time there weren't many chances.
"It was probably always going to be that way. We took a lot of what was on offer, created a few half-chances. We didn't quite finish those off and Bradford were probably the same.
"But obviously we're happy with the score of course but more importantly getting the win and the two points."
Friday's man of the match Adamson, who scored one try and made another, drew the plaudits from McRae.
He added: "He's been outstanding for us all season and it was a tremendous effort.
"You're never quite sure how your athletes are going to recover and get themselves not only physically but emotionally ready for the next game.
"It's always a bit of a worry but the bloke was outstanding again.
"He continues to get better in a lot of the different roles he has to play for the team."
What do you think? Have your say.

I'm sure our head coach Shaun McRae will have the boys all fired up and who knows this could be our year to return to Wembley for the first time since 1969.
