Back in 1996/97, Reds rocked the Rugby League world by beating the then-mighty Wigan, who were aiming for a remarkable eighth successive Wembley crowning.
The game went down in Willows folklore - and Wiganer Sibbit is relishing the rematch at the JJB Stadium.
The Reds star told MEN Sport: "As a Wigan lad, I always loved playing against my home town team. This is going to be some tie.
"If you want to win the Challenge Cup, you have to beat the likes of Wigan. We will be going there as underdogs just as we did when we beat Hull at the KC. This suits us, we know we can match and beat the best.
"It will be our third successive away tie. There's no easy route to the Challenge Cup Final, you have to earn the right to play at Wembley.
"We would love to go all the way and there's real determination among the lads."
The Reds will take on the Warriors with possibly more Wigan lads in their ranks than the home team have in theirs.
Sibbit, who lives just five minutes from the JJB, added: "We do have a high number of Wigan lads and we'll all be up for this game. We know what it means to beat Wigan and we also realise what it takes to win there.
"We have a great team spirit. When it comes to switching on and being focused we are ready to go.
Winners
"We'll be taking on the form team in Super League. Wigan took Saints to pieces in Edinburgh and were convincing winners in the Cup at Wakefield at the weekend after overcoming a slow start.
"We know we will have to reproduce the form we showed in winning at Hull and Leeds but by winning at these two places we proved what we can do.
"We certainly cannot be underestimated. Mark Henry did well for us in the last round at Batley.
"He's a great guy to have around and I was very pleased to see him scoring four tries. It was also very good to have Willie Talau back in action. Willie is vastly experienced and when he talks people always listen. He brings so much to the team.
"He and Mark Henry could form a really strong partnership.
"Scoring four tries will have done Mark a power of good. He's a quality player.
"We have a very close squad and we also have a lot of quality. Luke Swain and Ray Cashmere have really come to the fore and are professional in everything they do.
"Their professionalism is contagious not only on match days but in training as well. Every single player at the club wants to do well."
Will Salford beat Wigan? Have your say.

Salford City Reds have never won at the JJB Stadium and I think it's about time we put this trend to bed.
COME ON YOU REDS.......
Course we Can! This is the season for breaking long stading'Hoodoo's'.
Hull, Leeds, and now could it be Wigan ?
It's been far too many years since we got to Wembley ans I feel Mr Wilky, the players and the fans deserve a showcase final.
Come on Salford. YOU CAN DO IT!
In a one game series, anything can happen. Certainly the Reds could pull off a surprise win, but the odds favour Wigan .I just hope that it is an exciting match between 2 sides giving their all. McRae will have some selection problems ,at wing and centre so let's hope he makes the right selection. Torred
