Doncaster 18 Leigh Centurions 24

LEIGH Centurions’ boss Neil Kelly asked for a huge response after the Batley defeat and he got one, with full-back Ian Mort scoring two tries and goals.

The brace came in the space of two minutes to put Leigh 12-0 up as Doncaster’s barriers broke down after excellent work from the Leigh pack.

Doncaster reduced the gap only to see Kurt Haggerty get a third Leigh try to open the gap to 18-6 at half-time.

Andy Hobson claimed another Leigh try two minutes after the restart, and although Doncaster hit back with two tries in the space of ten minutes, the Centurions held out to take the points.
