Duo set for Wigan debuts

WIGAN Warriors are expected to hand debuts to Karl Pryce and Tim Riddell for tomorrow's friendly at Warrington Wolves.

Former Bradford Bulls favourite Pryce hasn't played since signing from Gloucester rugby union club more than 12 months ago because of ankle problems.

Riddell, affectionately nicknamed `Piggy' byAussie fans, recently arrived in the UK and is already impressed by the Warriors' set-up.

"Wigan have the best training facilities I have ever seen," said the former Parramatta Eels favourite.

"A few Australian clubs would be envious."

Riddell says the recommendation of ex Wigan star Trent Barrett helped clinch his move.

Familiar

"Trent had nothing but praise for the club and how it is run. And I know a few of the boys including Phil Bailey, who I've known since I was 18," he added.

"It's handy to have some familiar faces around like Tim Smith who I've played footie with before."

In contrast, Warrington boss Jimmy Lowes has named an inexperienced squad.

WIDNES back-rower Matt Strong has been ruled out of today's game against Challenge Cup holders St Helens with a leg injury.

His place in the squad has been taken by Irish international Lee Doran.

Mick Potter, in his first game as Saints coach, has indicated that he will play a very experienced pack with a young back line.
