DESPITE an impressive run in the Northern Rail Cup, Rochdale Hornets are still pointless at the foot of the table.

Hornets again played some fine attacking football at times and led 20-18 at the interval thanks to tries from Dave McConnell and Tommy Goulden (2) and four Kevin King goals.

But just as they did against Widnes in their previous home game, Hornets failed to score any points in the second half.

Hornets' old boy Richard Varkulis got two tries for Halifax.
