A THRILLING last-gasp try from Eric Andrews handed Rochdale Hornets a 20-16 victory over a stubborn Celtic Crusaders in the Carnegie Challenge Cup at Spotland.
The Welsh team looked to have won the game when Dean Fitzgerald dived over with two minutes remaining, only for Chris Giles and Phil Hasty to hold him up.
The home side then broke upfield with Lee Patterson feeding Andrews and the winger raced from inside his own half, evading three challenges, to clinch the match.
Struggled
Hornets struggled to get going in the first half with the usually reliable Tommy Goulden conceding possession several times and Simon Svabic's kicking game suffering in the blustery conditions.
It was no surprise that they trailed 16-8 at the break despite tries by Chris Giles and Patterson.
A try by Hulse goaled by King put Hornets in a position to snatch the win.
Waht do you think? Have your say.
