The former Bryan Smart inmate was seriously progressive a couple of seasons ago, winning three times during a lucrative 2007 campaign.
On first look he was slightly disappointing the following year but, in his defence, he was being campaigned at a decent level - notably finishing a close-up fourth in a Group Three at the Curragh.
It should have therefore come as no surprise when he made a winning start for new connections on the Downs in April.
With further improvement not inconceivable, it would be dangerous to write him off.
Godolphin’s Silk Trail appears to have been found the perfect opportunity to break her duck in the Phoenix Security Maiden Fillies’ Stakes.
The three-year-old was a big eyecatcher when staying on from the rear to fill the runner-up spot on her Lingfield debut - but has not scored in two subsequent starts.
