After a pretty dismal season last year, Cox has really made up for lost time this summer and has already overtaken his tally for the previous campaign.
Master Of Disguise made a really pleasing debut last May behind the useful Cerito but was then off the track until October when Cox thought enough of him to run in a very valuable sales races at Newmarket.
He cut no ice in that but the experience obviously did him a power of good.
Having broke his maiden at Bath in no uncertain terms, Cox knew he had a very well handicapped youngster on his hands.
He also proved that day he could handle cut in the ground which could be vital this weekend.
Making his seasonal debut at Sandown in April off a mark of 84, he was well supported all day and his backers never had a moment of worry as he ran out a two-and-a-quarter-length winner of a good handicap.
That was on good to firm but Cox thinks he is even better with some cut, which given the recent heavy rain in Yorkshire, is a big plus.
