Sea The Stars wins Epsom Derby

Mick Kinane and Sea The Stars take victory
Sea The Stars etched his name in history by becoming the first horse for 20 years to pull off the 2000 Guineas-Investec Derby double at Epsom.

John Oxx’s colt, bred for greatness, travelled beautifully throughout the race for Mick Kinane, who was winning his third Derby.

Aidan O’Brien’s army were chasing in vain as the 11-4 second-favourite beat the well-backed 9-4 market leader Fame And Glory by a length and three-quarters, with Masterofthehorse a neck away in third and Rip Van Winkle fourth.
