RISING Kheleyf looks a horse on the up and he can continue his progress with victory in the Boddingtons Redcar Straight-Mile Championship at the Cleveland venue.

The three-year-old failed to strike in four juvenile starts for Alan Swinbank, but he rounded out his campaign with an encouraging fourth at Pontefract last October.

Another winter on his back evidently did Rising Kheleyf the power of good, as he demonstrated by making a winning reappearance at Catterick last week.

Rising Kheleyf showed a good attitude to knuckle down in the final couple of furlongs and hold Foreign Investment by a length and a quarter, suggesting a further step up in trip from seven furlongs would not be an issue.

He races off a 6lb higher mark here, but Rising Kheleyf strikes as a typical Swinbank improver and could be one to rack up a sequence.
