HUNTDOWN could not have been more impressive as he cruised seven lengths clear in division one of the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup Maiden Stakes at Newbury.

The chestnut was adding to trainer John Gosden's hand of exciting two-year-old prospects and was an unopposable 3-10 favourite after suffering a narrow defeat on his debut last month.

Showing instant acceleration under Frankie Dettori at the furlong marker, he was quoted at 25-1 by William Hill for next year's 2000 Guineas but 33s with Paddy Power and VCBet.

"He's a lovely horse - Frankie liked him and there's a lot to like," said Gosden's travelling head lad Les Reynolds.
