The Phoenix coach accused his overseas contingent of lacking intensity and only performing for one period of the game.
"Not everyone came to play and I am very disappointed with a few of my high end players," he said. Some people did not show up and play with any intensity.
"I thought the British players did justice to the club and the Phoenix uniform.
"They were never in any trouble in the defensive zone and worked their hearts out in the offensive zone, but, unfortunately, some of the imports did not play with the same intensity."
Phoenix shipped three goals in the second period and staged a relentless fightback in the third, but could not breach the Basingstoke defence.
They are back in action on Friday when Belfast Giants are visitors to the M.E.N. Arena.

Nice one Tricky Ricky shame that you have no faith in them and shipped them out to lower division teams.

The Brits signed thus far to Phoenix have worked exceptionally well and have got as much ice time as is possible, considereng the likes of the Sheffield and Nottinghams we have had to play against. The Brits have given a brilliant account of themselves so far, with more to come in the future.
I suggest you get yourself to the MEN or even an away game (Nottingham next Tuesday) and see for yourself.
