ICE HOCKEY Coach Tony Hand's European connection is reaping the benefits for Manchester Phoenix.
Swedish winger Johan Molin and defencemen Rado Hecl and David Vychodil - a Slovakian and a Czech - were all on the scoresheet in Sunday's 3-1 win against Edinburgh.
Molin has been a sensation this season with 21 goals from 20 games while Hecl and Vychodil are regular contrib- utors from the blue line.
Recent signing Ales Parez from the Czech Republic completes the European contingent in the Phoenix squad and Hand said: "Our European imports have been a big bonus for us.
"Ales came in recently as a replacement for Ryan Watson who decided to back to North America and I think we have got a better player."
Phoenix travel to play Cardiff tomorrow in what will be the first game in the Devils new rink. The building - a similar design to the new rink under construction in Altrincham - was due to open with a game against Newcastle on Saturday but the match had to be postponed because the ice was not hard enough.

Tony, whilst most of your comments are correct Pares, so far, is not as good as Watson was during his games for the Phoenix. The team is short of two big, strong, fast, experienced players.
