Preston was knocked out after being hit by an elbow from Belfast's Doug MacDonald in Sunday's fiery 2-0 victory in which both coaches were thrown out of the game.
The 27-year-old Canadian received on-ice treatment from physion Ali Bugg and took no further part in the game.
Despite the severity of the impact, Macdonald only received a two minute minor penalty from referee Simon Kirkham.
Storm coach Daryl Lipsey said: ""Danny will definitely not be in our line-up on Thursday against London.
"He's concussed from the elbow he got hit with and we'll have to wait and see how he is later in the week before we make a decision if he can play against Nottingham next Sunday.
"We'll be advised by our medical staff and will not risk any player suffering from a head injury."
Storm are still awaiting a decision from the Superleague whether Pasi Nielikainen will be eligible to play. The Finnish winger sat out Sunday's game with suspension but could face further discipline.
