It’s been tough these last couple of weeks losing four games on the bounce but we have no-one to blame but ourselves.
In Newcastle we just played pretty bad – we went down to their level.
Against Coventry we played hard but didn’t bury our chances.
In Sheffield we played really well in what was a hard-fought battle that either team could have won. We made mistakes and we paid for them.
Against Belfast we started well and were right with them but then our defence fell apart in the third period and that 8-2 defeat is pretty hard to live with.
Their equaliser at the end of the second took the wind out of our sails. It’s an unwritten rule in hockey when the coach puts you out there in the last minute you shouldn’t get scored on.
We have no excuse for letting in six goals in the third period. It was a complete and total embarrassment and it can’t be accepted.
Our coach Tony Hand had meetings with us this week about our different roles within the team and what we could do so this never happens again.
We’ve analysed this losing streak intensely to make sure we get back on track.
The fans don’t deserve it and we don’t deserve it ourselves. We’ve beaten up on ourselves and we have to get out of this slump.
Going in to Coventry on Saturday night will be tough. They are one of the best teams in the league but you have to take the positives. If we play for the full 60 minutes and cut down on our mistakes then we can beat them.
Massive
It’s a big game because if we break this losing streak against one of the best teams in the league it will be a massive confidence boost.
Sunday’s game against Cardiff is even bigger game because these guys are nipping right at our heels a point behind us with a game in hand. It’s a huge weekend but one I know we’ll pull through.
All the guys went down to the Hyundai dealership to test drive cars with the fans.
They have been great sponsors the whole year.
I drove around the block with one guy and the lights changed and I continued to go through - it turned out he was a driving instructor.
He would have failed me on that one but he said everything else was perfect!

Since the unfortunate departure of Dwyte Parrish is seems like the wheels have come off the Phoenix season. Whatever the magic of the mix of lines was before, appears to have slipped away, and having not replaced such an experienced player has left the lower lines short. I hope Tony Hand can juggle things about to cover this, but we look like a poor team at the moment with 5 out of 6 losses.
