Ringway cut their rivals down to size after a drastic last minute gamble paid off in the MEN Media Golf Club Challenge.
Fay Pye decided to shorten her putter on the eve of the event and ended up winning a VIP trip to the Ryder Cup, along with partner Pam Evans.
"People kept telling me my putter was too long and it was sticking in my stomach. The assistant pro at Ringway took four inches off the day before and it was much better," explained Fay. "It was the first time I’d tried it so it was a big risk."
The two 15-handicappers are now off to Celtic Manor in the autumn to watch Europe attempt to take the Ryder Cup off the Americans.
They feared 39 points would not be enough but it gave them a two-point cushion over Dukinfield duo Sally Lester and Lorraine Hargreaves who won a golf trip to Scotland as consolation.
Relegated to third on a card play off were Tytherington’s Kim Mortimer and Ruth Turner with Jo Akers and Jo Coxon from Stamford claiming fourth.

The finals day was staged at Romiley which meant the winners of the men’s event did not have to travel far. Graham Brooke and Ray Mills, from nearby Bramall Park, are also looking forward to a Ryder Cup outing as their prize.
"I’m sure winning on a local course will go down well with the lads at the club," remarked 13-handicapper Graham whose birdie on the 13th proved decisive in a dramatic finish.
Graham and Ray, off 11, were tied on 39 points with Hart Common and Northenden and edged home courtesy of a card play-off for the last six holes.
It meant disappointment for two father and son combinations. Matt Pollard showed dad Michael the way for Hart Common who came second with low handicappers Chris Harrison and son Carl, from Northenden, in third. A point further back were Stamford pair Glyn Andrew and Dave Briddon.
The Romiley representatives missed out on a place among the prizes after failing to sign their card although the host club earned great praise for the standard of the course and their hospitality.
