Practice Drill: Carpet Fitter

To get good at knocking pitch shots you need to be good at judging distance. Carpet fitters can look at an area in a room and INSTANTLY judge distance because each day they take measurements of distance.

Hit random pitches from 10 different locations and go through this procedure.

With a range finder ‘take’ the distance. Say out loud the yardage ’54 yards!!’ Feel the distance with a practice swing.

Play the shot. Note down how many shots are within 8ft (any putt within 8ft statistically you will hole OVER 50%).

Use this drill in your practice to sharpen your short game.
