Tip 4

Practice Drill: ‘Par 18’

One of the things I’d like you to introduce to your practice is an element of consequence.

Most people are wasting their time when they practise because they just aimlessly hit shots one after the other and it doesn’t mean anything.

You need to know that you are getting better.

I’d like you to start to play a game called par 18 where you play from nine different locations around the chipping green and you keep a score.

Just go with your chipping clubs, your putter and one ball.

First of all simply hit a chip. Watch it land, roll out, and then you’ve got to hole the putt.

Play from all the different locations and keep a score. That’s going to put you under real pressure.
