Hello, I’m Karl Morris and I’m a golf psychologist.

Over the past 10 years I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best players in the world. Players like Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley.

I want to talk to you about practice.

Now I’m going to make a bold statement, I’m going to say the chances are the practice you're doing now is a complete and utter waste of time, but I’m going to explain to you why your practice sessions need to be different.

You need to think differently, you need to involve an element of consequence in your practice. You need to simulate the real game, put yourself under pressure and need to measure your progress.

One of the guiding principles that I have in the work I do today is this: if what you’re doing is working and you’re improving, then you need to do more of it.

If it isn’t working, then you need to do something else.
Einstein said the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same things over and over again and expect a different result.

Maybe if you’re one of those golfers who hits it great on the range and then plays poorly on the golf course, you need to start to do a few things differently.

Tip 1: The Importance of state

Tip 2: Make the target smaller

Tip 3: Make the course longer

Tip 4: Par 18

Tip 5: Ten ball game

Tip 6: Worst ball

Tip 7: Switching on and off your concentration

Tip 8: Breathe through your heart

Tip 9: Carpet fitter

Tip 10: Swing thoughts
