CHARLOTTE Wild, a former JJB Sport MEN Women's Championship winner from Mere, will link up with Gloucestershire's Charlotte Ellis and represent England in the Nations' Cup at the Irish Open at Elm Park on June 28-29.

Wild, 18, from Mere, has retained the Cheshire girls' championship and won the Northern Foursomes this season as well as qualifying for the matchplay stages of the English Women's Championship at Ganton.

She trains with the English Select North Squad while Ellis , who plays at Minchinhampton, reached the semi-finals at Ganton, despite suffering from a muscle injury.

She is a past winner of the English mid-amateur.

CROMPTON and Royton's centenary celebrations continued with a pro-am in which Mossock Hall's David Shacklady, who played in last week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, shared the first prize with Ashton-in-Makerfield professional Peter Allan on five-over-par 75 in testing conditions.
