The former Cheadle professional is aiming to raise his game after embarking on a full-time playing career nearly two years ago.
And he is equally determined to help to raise public awareness of prostate cancer.
Cain, who lives in Stretford and is attending the PGA EuroPro Tour qualifying school which starts tomorrow at Forest Pines, said: "My grandfather is battling the disease and when I was asked to get involved in a fundraising initiative I was more than happy to do so.
"At sometime in their lives, one in two men will suffer from the problem and Prostate UK are dedicated to limiting the damage this causes by providing information and financing both medical research and the training of
healthcare professionals.
"With my grandfather falling ill, it really brought it home to me that it can affect any of us and I want to do as much as I can to help support him," said Cain who became attached to Mere last month.
He is confident of improving his ranking on the EuroPro Tour which will enable him to compete in all 16 events in the UK and Portugal.
"It can be an expensive business but I have been lucky to receive help from AMTECS and Neutronics and I am also looking for further financial support towards a funding Prostate UK Pro-am I want to arrange later in the season."
