THE 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales will be held in the week of September 27 to October 3, organisers have confirmed.

Next year's event is being staged at Valhalla Golf in Louisville, Kentucky, but returns to Europe two years later.

"This means that the countdown has truly begun for when The Ryder Cup will be played in Wales for the first time," said George O'Grady, chief executive of the European Tour.
