Preview: Wigan Athletic v Coventry City

STRIKER Jason Roberts returns from suspension to boost Wigan's promotion challenge against in-form Coventry City.

Latics boss Paul Jewell knows just how much Roberts has been missed as well as realising the importance of tomorrow's home game.

Jewell said: "Roberts gives us pace up front.

"He has the ability to get in behind defenders, looks sharp and will go straight in."

Wigan are without suspended skipper Jason De Vos while Matt Jackson, pencilled in as his deputy, faces a late fitness test after picking up a knock in training.

Alan Mahon and Jimmy Bullard will also undergo tests.

Jewell watched Coventry beat Preston 4-1 in midweek and knows his side must bounce back from defeat at West Brom if they are to keep their challenge for a play-off place on the right track.

He added: "Coventry are going great guns and it really is tough up at the top with a number of sides in there challenging.

"We know what's expected of us and we'll got out and give it everything in our remaining games."

Last Season: Different divisions.

Key Opponent: Bjarni Gudjonsson - a striker in fine form.

Prediction: Wigan 1 Coventry 0
