WIGAN Athletic boss Paul Jewell has been handed a two match ban and fined £1,000 by the FA, following his sending off at Reading last month.
Jewell's ban comes into operation from December 15, meaning he must watch games against Crewe and Rotherham from the stand.
Jewell caused a stir in midweek with a verbal attack on referee Ray Olivier following Wigan's 1-1 draw with Sunderland.
Olivier sent off Jason de Vos, confusing him with teammate Ian Breckin.
Jewell said: "You had better ask Stevie Wonder the referee about the sending off.
"How could he get the wrong man? One had No. 5 on his back, the other had 6. One of them is also six inches taller than the other."
Jewell's immediate priority is winning tomorrow's return clash with Reading and staying in touch with the chasing pack.
Latics will again be without striker Jeff Horsfield who sustained a groin injury in the defeat at West Ham.
Jewell delays selection but loan signing Alan Rogers is set to continue at left back after an impressive performance at Sunderland.
