PAUL Jewell says it's about time Division One leaders Wigan Athletic got more credit for their performances.
The Latics boss has hit back at the critics, saying: "People are too ready to label us big-spending Wigan, but we only have a small squad.
"They then start going on about our crowds. It's time they looked at our record and realise we ain't bad.
"We've lost just five of our last 60 games. I'm told it's the best record in Europe."
Jewell expects a tough test tomorrow against Walsall. The Saddlers are managed by Colin Lee, who worked for a short spell at Wigan as a coach.
Jewell added: "Colin is a good coach. Walsall work hard and they play good football.
"They also use their ground to the best of their advantage and we're expecting few favours."
Jewell is not expected to change the starting 11 which was held to a midweek draw by Sheffield United.
He added: "We have one or two bumps and bruises but nothing major and we're looking for a good performance."
