WIGAN were again indebted to fans' favourite Lee McCulloch whose late equaliser secured a deserved point.

Preston were under the hammer for long spells but took the lead on 87 minutes with a Ricardo Fuller goal.

Many teams would have folded but resilient Wigan bounced back two minutes later.

Gary Teale's cross was met by McCulloch who was dominant throughout - he duly obliged with a powerful header.

It was no more than Wigan deserved - McCulloch had earlier gone close with half a dozen good chances.
