NATHAN Ellington is expected to play for Wigan despite being ill earlier this week.

The prolific striker was sent home from training by manager Paul Jewell after going down with tonsilitis.

But Wigan are expected to be at full strength with Ellington set to partner Andy Liddell up front.

The Latics have beaten the big freeze this week by training indoors at the nearby Soccerdome.

Manager Jewell has hinted at bringing in loan players.

Ged Brannan, the former Manchester City defender, is the latest first teamer to be released. He has joined Scottish Premier outfit Dunfermline.
