FA Cup preview: Portsmouth v Wigan

NEW signings Andreas Granqvist and Kristofer Haestad are both in the Wigan squad for the FA Cup third-round tie with Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Sweden Under-21 international centre-back Granqvist and Norway midfielder Haestad were both signed last week on loan deals to the end of the season from Helsingborg and IK Start respectively.

Granqvist could start as captain Arjan de Zeeuw is again sidelined with an ongoing toe problem, while Josip Skoko, Henri Camara, Paul Scharner and Antonio Valencia are also out injured.

Lee McCulloch is available again after completing a three-match suspension.

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp could rest either of his veteran centre-backs Sol Campbell and Linvoy Primus with both having been virtual ever-presents this season.

Striker Svetoslav Todorov and defenders Andy Griffin and Richard Duffy are available after returning from loan spells but Todorov - who has been at Wigan for the last four months - is troubled by a groin strain. Midfielder Matt Taylor switches to left-back for the injured Noe Pamarot (groin).

Lomana LuaLua is out long term with a thigh injury, so Pompey could turn to the Andy Cole-Benjani Mwaruwari tandem in attack, resting top scorer Kanu. Midfielder Pedro Mendes may also take a break.

Portsmouth (from): James, Johnson, Primus, Campbell, OéBrien, Taylor, OéNeil, Thompson, Mendes, Davis, Kranjcar, Mwaruwari, Cole, Kanu, Koroman, Duffy, Hughes, Todorov, Griffin, Ashdown.
