Bullard set to stay on

JIMMY Bullard is close to agreeing a new extended contract with Wigan Athletic, but the Latics are still keeping an eye on Tottenham's Michael Brown.

Latics bosses have made 27-year-old midfielder Bullard a new offer and he is likely to accept.

But with Edgar Davids arriving at Spurs, boss Jewell is maintaining an interest in former Manchester City man Brown.

Meanwhile, Wigan have had a £3m bid for Sheffield United star Phil Jagielka turned down.

Should Wigan go for Brown if Bullard stays on? Have your say.

if we put in an offer of 3m i think we'll get brown, thats if spurs release him, he was there main mf last season and there manager likes him, but birmingham will be after him as well

Nearly all Wigan fans seem to prefer Brown to Jagielka, as the latter is a fullback really, but Brown is a goal scoring midfielder and with Prem. exp.

If they can get Brown for B#3m, that's a steal. He was fantastic last season, really got the measure of the Premiership, but I can't see him ousting all the big, highly paid names at Spurs.

At his age he needs to be playing so if Brown and SPurs agree, why not?
