WATFORD striker Heidar Helgusson is thinking over a move to Wigan Athletic.

He has visited the JJB Stadium, held talks and could sign later this week.

Wigan face strong competition though from the other newly-promoted sides, West Ham and Sunderland .

Wigan have also been linked with Steve Stone following his release by Portsmouth.

The Latics remain favourites to sign Rotherham keeper Mike Pollitt and are confident that Nathan Ellington and Jimmy Bullard soon signing extended deals, despite interest in the pair from other clubs. Tweet
