WIGAN Athletic defenders Matt Jackson and Ian Breckin will play through the pain barrier against Rotherham on Saturday.

The two centre-halves were in the wars during Wigan's FA Cup defeat at Derby on Saturday.

Skipper Jackson tore webbing in his fingers and Breckin, the man who replaced him, broke his nose.

Breckin had his damaged nose re-aligned by the Derby doctor straight after Saturday's game while Jackson suffered a similar injury against Oldham three seasons ago.

New Swedish signing Andreas Johannson is expected to be on the bench at Millmoor.

Meanwhile, reports from Denmark are linking Wigan with former Bolton star Stig Tofting, who has been released by Aarhus.

Tofting is a close friend of Per Frandsen, who joined Wigan at the start of the season. Tweet
