The Yorkshire lad was keen to join the Blades but Jewell is adamant that he is staying with the Latics.
Two more Wigan stars are being linked with Ipswich Town, whose boss Joe Royle is understood to be keen on taking Alan Mahon back to Portman Road and is also interested in former Stockport favourite Tony Dinning.
Latics themselves are still in the hunt for Blackburn defender Andy Todd. Jewell is also considering a double bid for Stirling Albion duo David O'Brien and Paul Nugent.
New signing David Graham impressed last night in Wigan's comfortable 3-0 win over Halifax Town at The Shay.
Midfield dynamo Jimmy Bullard opened the scoring, Jason Roberts added a second and Nathan Ellington converted a second-half penalty.
Jewell is delighted with Graham, following his move from Torquay, and revealed he could play him alongside Roberts and Ellington in a three-pronged attack.
Jewell said: "It's a good option to have. Graham is a quality striker with a fine all-round game." Tweet
