AMR Zaki's hopes of landing a permanent deal with Wigan Athletic have been hit by an injury setback.

Zaki is facing at least a fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring injury picked up while playing for Egypt in the World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

The striker will now miss Sunday's big Premiership clash with Everton and the following week's home game against Arsenal.

Zaki, 26, has been on a season-long loan deal at Wigan from his club side Zamalek. Wigan have first option to sign him.
