WIGAN Athletic are tracking Middlesbrough midfielder Lee Cattermole.

Latics' boss Steve Bruce has stepped up his interest in Cattermole after failing to sign Honduran international Hendry Thomas.

Bruce is looking to strengthen midfield and increase the competition for places.

Thomas was refused a work permit due to his lack of international experience.

Wigan play Eintracht Frankfurt in Austria tonight as part of their pre-season preparations and Henri Camara could figure again after scoring in the weekend win over FC St Vien.
